Mail clients like Microsoft Outlook often generate mails with one or more file that are encapsulated into a single file TNEF, with mime/type "application/ms-tnef" and filename winmail.dat or win.dat.
To decode the content of this file, which can contains one or more files, there are many applications and libraries (tnef, libytnef) and a Mozilla Thunderbird extension which name is LookOut: installing this extension, it shown the attach winmail.dat and also the list of files within that container.
As usualy, it's needed to look for applications and systems that permit to see what Microsoft always try to hide from those who don't use its bad software incompatible and without any standard.

I programmi tipo Microsoft Outlook, spesso, creano delle mail con allegati che vengono incapsulati in un formato definito TNEF, che ha mime/type "application/ms-tnef" il cui nome di file è solitamente winmail.dat o win.dat.
Per poter decodificare il contenuto di questo allegato, che può contenere uno o più files, ci sono alcune applicazioni e librerie per windows (tnef, libytnef0) ed anche un componente aggiuntivo di Thunderbird che si chiama LookOut, il quale una volta installato consente di visualizzare, oltre al file winmail.dat, anche i files in esso contenuti.
Come al solito bisogna trovare un sistema per rincorrere tutte le novità di Microsoft che cercano come al solito di rendere le proprie applicazioni incompatibili e fuori standard.
