QUESTIONS ABOUT REMOTE CONTROL DEVICES - LEARNING CODE

While learning original sender, ACLUS or PANDIS does not acquire the code, so the LED does not blink for 3 or more times

• verify that the original remote device works well and transmits in a frequency supported our devices (433.920 MHz for ACLUS, 286-361MHz or 384-400MHz or 418MHz or 433.92MHz or 868.3MHz for PANDIS, 868.3 MHz for CELIUS)
  Please take care that some remote controls transmits at 27-40MHz, 224MHz, 270MHz and several other frequencies that are not managed by our devices
• check that the original remote control is displayed into the compatibility list and not in the incompatibility list (see at the bottom of this page)
• take the original remote control near our device, and try to press the key on the original remote control 2 or more times
• retry the learning procedure pressing buttons 1 and 2, instead of 1 and 3, to bypass some checks

LED blinks 3 times, but the gate/door automation does not open

• retry learning the original code taking the original transmitter nearer or farther from our device
• verify that the original is not a rolling code: if so, check that the automation has rolling code check disabled
• if the original remote control transmit in the 286-400MHz band, retry learning code:

1. pressing the button N times to set the exact frequency

2. if the original frequency is unknown and the compatibility table below is useless, or if the original frequency is different from the frequencies in the table above, acquire the code pressing the button 3 times (automatic frequency scan) taking the original remote at 50cm from PANDIS: every time the LED blinks (scan restart), bring the original remote 20cm nearer: in this mode, you avoid the possibility for PANDIS to tune in a spurious frequency.

Learning the code from the original remote transmitter works, but not from a duplicated remote transmitter (REMOCON or other universal remote controls)

PANDIS, ACLUS and CELIUS learn the code from the original devices, but sometime cannot learn duplicated remotes like REMOCON because it's possible that REMOCON and other universal remotes do not transmit the code like the original sender, but strip the begin part (sync pulses, which are needed to correctly determine the kind of code and the timings). So, for certain types of code, you can learn only the original devices and not the duplicated ones.

Learning procedure does not work: while pressing together buttons 1+3 or 1+2 the LED blinks, then when I press the button where the code should be learned, the LED goes OFF

In this case the battery should be replaced, because it's voltage falls below the minimum voltage threshold when the receiver is turned ON.

How should I learn code with PANDIS?

433.92 MHz?

1. Press buttons 1+3  together, on PANDIS, for about 3 seconds: LED start blinking fast

2. Press one time the button, on PANDIS, where you want to store the code: LED become always ON
   

3. Transmit from the original remote, from about 30cm of distance: when the original code is received, LED will blink 3 times (for fixed code) or 6 times (in case of rolling code)
   

868.3 MHz?

1. Press buttons 1+3 together, on PANDIS, for about 3 seconds: LED start blinking fast

Does original remote transmit on the band 286-400 MHz, or 418 MHz?

Following the instructions above does not lead to a valid result?

Check the compatibility and incompatibility list below.

If your original remote control is not in these lists, probably your remote control is unknown: retry the procedure above pressing together  1+2 buttons on step1, instead of 1+3, to disable code checking.

What does "pandis R2" or "aclus R3" means?

The "R NUMBER" indicate the firmware revision of the device. For example, while "pandis" indicates every pandis device, "pandis R2" indicates every pandis device with firmware revision starting from 2.

For example, QUASAR TXSA2T is compatible with pandis R2, so it can be learned by pandis device with firmware revisions 2, 3, 4, ....

How can I know the firmware revision of my PANDIS/ACLUS/CELIUS device?

Open the remote device, remove the battery, wait few seconds, then reinsert the battery.

If the LED does not blink, the firmware revision is 1, else the firmware revision correspond with the number of blinks, i.e. if the LED blinks 2 times, that device has a firmware revision 2.

How should the PANDIS/ACLUS/CELIUS enclosure be opened?

What is KeeLoq?

KeeLoq is the name of a coding developed by Microchip which is formed by

• 34 fixed pulses, which contains a 28 bits serial number (268435456 combinations), 4 bits corresponding with the buttons which are pressed, and other less important 2 bits;
• 32 rolling bits, which changes every time the button is pressed and contains, after decryption, a 16bit sync number (which is incremented every time the button is pressed), 10 bits which can be used to create 1024 different remote controls with the same serial number, and 4 bits which correspond with the pressed button.

In total, 66 bits are transmitted.

Some receivers check only the fixed part of the KeeLoq code, because the decryption algorithm takes a lot of time to be performed and need space in RAM and ROM. In this case, any KeeLoq remote control associated to these receivers can be duplicated.

The most receivers check both the fixed part and rolling part of the code, to achieve an higher level of security: in this case the remote controls cannot be duplicated. Decryption algorithm need to know a 64bit code, called Manufacturer code, which is secret, and the most important value returned is the sync number, the number of times the button is pressed. Normally, the receivers manage the sync number in this way:

• if sync_number = sync_number_old+1 then activate the automation
• if (sync_number - sync_number_old) >=32768 then ignore it
• if sync_number > sync_number_old then wait that button is pressed another time and check that the new sync_number is incremented: this process is called resync.

Duplicating V2 ELETTRONICA phoenix remote controls

Several V2 receivers has the ability to enable and disable the check of the rolling part of the code. Normally, V2 ELETTRONICA receivers are sold with this feature disabled, but can be enabled by the installer to avoid the possibility to duplicate remote controls. The following information permits to disable the rolling code feature, letting you to increase the number of your remote controls without the need to buy them from the installer, but simply duplicating your existing remote control into ACLUS or PANDIS.

Main informations are available at V2 elettronica website: for your convenience, here are the instructions of some receivers. Please not that, to disable rolling code checking, in some cases there is a jumper JP1 that should be inserted, sometime you can find a receiver with a 7-segment display so you have to change the parameter rLC no , sometimes there is a pushbutton P1 that should be pressed for 8 seconds to look at the current state: if LED flashes twice, press the pushbutton P1 again within 5 seconds.

Duplicating DITEC GOL4 and DITEC BIX LP2 remote controls

DITEC BIX LP and GOL4 cannot be copied, because they are rolling code, but there is another solutions that permit you to have 1 or more other remote controls.

DITEC receivers manage both rolling code and fixed code transmitted by DITEC GOL4C , so we can supply you one or more remote controls ACLUS or PANDIS already programmed with a GOL4 code.

In this way, you have to follow a simple procedure, in the DITEC receiver/operator, to learn the code transmitted by ACLUS or PANDIS , then all your ACLUS/PANDIS remote controls wil work perfectly as like as the existing BIX LP and GOL4 remote controls.

ACLUS costs about 15€, shipping starts from 2€, so it's the best solution to increase the number of remote controls for your automation.

What can I do if my remote control transmit a rolling code?

There are different cases with rolling code remotes:

1. The receiver check the ROLLING part of the code, then there is no way to duplicate the existing remote. You should only use original remote control.
2. The receiver check only the fixed part of the code, then the existing remote can be duplicated without any problem.
3. The receiver check the ROLLING part of the code, but also manages 12bit code (for old remotes), then you cannot duplicate your existing remote (rollingcode), but you should open the receiver to learn the code already programmed in our universal remote control (12 bit fixed code).
4. The receiver has a jumper to enable/disable the checking of the ROLLING part of the code, then you have to disable rollingcode checking on the receiver so you can duplicate your existing remote control successfully.
